Laura Hohman is an Associate Professor of History at Trevecca Nazarene University's School of Arts and Social Sciences. She specializes in the religious and cultural history of late antique and medieval Europe.
Education: PhD in History from Catholic University of America (2007), MA in History from Catholic University of America, BA in History from Gordon College.
Research: Focuses on pastoral care systems, popular culture, and educational frameworks in 9th-century Europe. Examines manuscript compilations to reconstruct societal norms and religious practices. Secondary interests include Byzantine, Renaissance, and Reformation studies within Mediterranean contexts.
Teaching: Develops courses connecting ancient societal challenges to contemporary issues, covering Early Modern/Modern Europe, Russia, Islam, and East Asia. Pedagogical approach emphasizes comparative analysis of primary sources.
