Laura E. Connolly

Laura E. Connolly is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Michigan Technological University's College of Business. She joined the institution in 2018 and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Alabama and a BA in Mathematics/Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Her research focuses on labor and demographic economics, public policy, applied microeconomics, and regional economic analysis. Current work examines women's labor supply dynamics, underrepresentation in management, and the impact of public policies on workers and firms. She has contributed to economic impact studies in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Teaching interests include labor economics, economic decision analysis, and microeconomic theory. Recent publications explore topics such as regional economic impacts of university research, ACA's effects on labor mobility, and gender disparities in public administration roles.

Dr. Connolly serves as faculty advisor for Phi Kappa Tau fraternity and is a member of Breakwater Federal Credit Union's audit supervisory committee. She has no listed scientific awards but maintains active engagement in academic and community roles.
