Laura Beth Daws is a Professor in the Department of Communication at Kennesaw State University, joining in Fall 2015. Her academic journey includes teaching roles at Auburn University, the University of Kentucky, Georgia Highlands College, and Southern Polytechnic State University since 2004.

Her research spans media studies, gender studies, online identity construction, communication pedagogy, and communication history. Publications focus on digital technologies' impact on identity, family communication, and media pedagogy. Collaborative works include analyses of TVA family relocation narratives and online research methods.
Scientific Awards include the Bruce Wesley Scholarship, Bert E. Bradley Excellence Award, Turris Fidelis Award, and Phi Kappa Phi recognition. She actively presents at national conferences for the National Communication Association (NCA), Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), and regional associations.
