Laura Doornkamp

Laura Doornkamp serves as a Senior Lecturer and Researcher within the Modelling of Social Impact research group at Saxion University of Applied Sciences, where she evaluates the societal value of innovations, policies, and initiatives across educational and broader contexts.

Her research integrates interdisciplinary perspectives from public administration, educational science, and social psychology, with particular emphasis on gender dynamics in secondary education. Her doctoral work at Leiden University investigated whether teacher gender influences student outcomes and the role of gender stereotypes in classroom environments.

Prior to her current position, she contributed to VHTO (Dutch expertise center for girls' and women's participation in technical sectors), strengthening her focus on equity in STEM education. Her core research areas include:
