Laura Doherty is a Research Fellow (Trial Coordinator) at the York Trials Unit, University of York, UK. She joined in 2019 as a Trial Support Officer and transitioned to her current role in 2023, focusing on clinical and health services research in NHS and social care settings.
- Education: BSc (Hons) Biochemistry with Industrial Placement Year, MSc Applied Health Research.
Her research interests include clinical trials methodology, systematic reviews, meta-analysis, and interventions to improve health outcomes in geriatric and surgical care. She contributes to studies like HAMLET and PORTRAIT, addressing comparative effectiveness and cost-benefit analyses.
Laura’s publications highlight innovations in randomized controlled trials and patient engagement strategies, such as text-message reminders. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and is affiliated with the Trials and Statistics research group.
