Laura Deiulio is a Professor and Department Chair of the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures at Christopher Newport University. She holds a PhD and MA in Germanic Languages and Literatures from Princeton University and an AB from Washington University in St. Louis.

- Expertise in German Romanticism and women writers
Her research focuses on German Romanticism, particularly the works of women writers like Rahel Levin Varnhagen, Auguste Brede, Pauline Wiesel, Esther Gad, and Lou Andreas-Salomé. Current projects include a book on Rahel Levin Varnhagen’s thought and co-editing a volume on intellectual collaborations from 1750–1850.
Selected publications analyze Rahel Levin Varnhagen's correspondence and contributions to life writing. She has contributed chapters to scholarly books on topics such as German Romanticism and women’s intellectual history.
