Laura Calderan

Laura Calderan is an Associate Professor at the University of Verona's Department of Neurosciences, Biomedicine and Movement Sciences. She graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Padua and earned her PhD in Experimental Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the University of Verona. Prior to her academic career, she worked as a Senior Scientist at GlaxoSmithKline.

Her research focuses on multimodal imaging techniques applied to oncology (glioblastoma/colon carcinoma models), nanotechnology in biomedicine (biodistribution/tissue damage assessment), and neuroscience (substance addiction/cerebral plasticity). She employs in vivo, ex vivo, and in vitro experimental models to study diagnostic/therapeutic compounds.

Professor Calderan holds institutional roles including membership in multiple departmental councils (Medicine and Surgery, Obstetrics, Nursing) and scientific committees for specialized Master's programs. She coordinates courses in Human Anatomy across several healthcare degree programs and previously taught at postgraduate medical specializations.
