Dr Laura Bunt-MacRury is a Lecturer in Political & International Studies at the University of Glasgow. She holds a BA in Anthropology and Political Science from the University of Houston, and MA and PhD in Anthropology from The New School for Social Research. Her expertise spans Latin America, Political & Legal Anthropology, Postcolonialism/Coloniality, Gender, and Race.

Recent publications examine sustainable water management in South Africa, colonial legacies in Peruvian legal systems, and race/gender dynamics in Latin American justice. Current research explores extractive mining practices in Peru through the lens of Greening Conflict in Peru: Corporate Mining, Resistance & the Law, analyzing the rule of law, indigeneity, and resistance movements.
Scientific awards include prestigious grants such as the Wenner-Gren Individual Dissertation Fieldwork Grant and Fulbright CIES Teaching Fellowship. She has held teaching roles in the UK, Europe, and the US, covering topics like Colonialism, Capitalism and Environmental Movements and Inequalities in the Global Economy.
