Latif Tokat is a Professor at the Department of Philosophy and Religious Sciences, Faculty of Theology, Ankara Social Sciences University. He earned his BA in Theology from Selçuk University (1989), MA in Philosophy of Religion (thesis: 'The Problem of Freedom in Theist Existentialism'), and PhD in Philosophy of Religion from Dokuz Eylül University (2002, thesis: 'Religious Symbolism'). He has served as a research assistant at Karadeniz Technical University and faculty member/head of department at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University until 2015.
