معرفی
Dr. Lars Kamphuis is an Associate Professor at Curtin University and holds a joint position with CSIRO Agriculture and Food. He leads projects at the Centre for Crop and Disease Management (CCDM), focusing on Sclerotinia stem rot in canola and pulses, and wild chickpea genetic diversity. His research spans plant resistance mechanisms, legume improvement, and fungal pathogen interactions. He earned his BSc and MSc from Wageningen University and his PhD from Murdoch University, with a postdoctoral fellowship at CSIRO. Notable contributions include aphid resistance gene identification in Medicago truncatula and genome sequencing of narrow-leafed lupin.
Research interests include plant-pathogen/pest interactions, legume genetics, and crop disease management. He has published extensively on Sclerotinia sclerotiorum, Ascochyta blight, and alkaloid biosynthesis in lupins. Key achievements include developing genomic resources for lupin and identifying resistance genes in chickpeas.
Scientific awards include an OCE Postdoctoral Fellowship (2007). His work bridges academia and industry, with collaborations in Australia and internationally. Current projects aim to enhance crop resilience and expand genetic diversity in legumes.
