Lars Björklund is a Lecturer at Linköping University, Sweden, jointly affiliated with the Department of Behavioural Sciences and Learning (IBL) and the Department of Learning, Aesthetics and Natural Sciences (LEN). He is active in the Science Didactics Centre and the TekNaD research environment, both of which connect teacher education with technology and natural-science didactics.
Research interests revolve around how teachers assess student learning in technology-rich contexts—particularly programming and computational thinking—and how natural-science and technology education can be improved through better diagnostic and evaluative practices. His work often contrasts product-versus-process criteria and explores what teachers implicitly value when grading.
Recent publications (2021-2025) show a steady focus on assessment culture: from comparative studies of programming-course grading to the development of thesis-assessment profiles in teacher education and speculative scenarios for technical education. These studies collectively advance evidence-based didactics in Swedish teacher training.
