Lars Börner is a Professor of Economics at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg and a Research Professor at the Leibniz Institute for Economic Research Halle (IWH). He previously held academic roles at King's College London, the London School of Economics and Political Science, the Free University of Berlin, Humboldt University Berlin, and the European University Institute.
Research Interests: His work focuses on the long-term evolution of economies, including the development of market allocation mechanisms, the impact of general purpose technologies on growth, and innovative methods to measure social and economic interactions through comparative analysis of trade patterns and disease spread.
