Larry Ross Martinez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at The University of Texas at Arlington. He holds a PhD, MA, and BA in Psychology from Rice University (2012, 2010, 2007). His research focuses on organizational diversity management, allyship training, workplace health, and labor rights, particularly among marginalized groups such as LGBTQ+ employees and agricultural workers. He leads or co-leads multiple grants, including a $497,679 NSF CAREER grant on allyship training and studies evaluating overtime legislation impacts on Latinx farmworkers.
Dr. Martinez advises graduate students and supervises postdoctoral research. He teaches courses like "Psychology of Employee Training" and "Research in Psychology". His service roles include chairing the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology's Diversifying I/O Psychology Committee and serving on editorial boards, including as Associate Editor of Applied Psychology: International Review.
His grants span topics like ethical reasoning training, mental health among migrant workers, and organizational antecedents of pain disclosure. He actively engages in community partnerships, such as focus groups with farmworkers to improve labor policies.
