Professor Larry J. LeBlanc is a faculty member at the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University, specializing in Operations Management & Quantitative Methods. His teaching innovations with Microsoft Excel have transformed course popularity, and he holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University (1973) alongside earlier degrees from the same institution and Loyola University (B.S. in Mathematics, 1969).
His research focuses on reducing spreadsheet error risk, supply chain analysis, telecommunication network design, and optimization models. He has received notable honors, including a Japanese Government Research Award and invitations to prestigious fellowships and speaking engagements globally.
Professionally, he has consulted for firms like FedEx, Johnson Electric, and Maury Regional Medical Center, addressing optimization, inventory control, and project planning. He has held leadership roles in INFORMS sections and served as a visiting professor at institutions such as Korea University (9 times), University of Ulm (4 times), and others across 12+ countries.
