Dr. Lara Momesso is a Lecturer in Asia Pacific Studies at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), serving as Deputy Director of the Northern Institute of Taiwan Studies and Co-Deputy Director of the Centre of Migration, Diaspora and Exile at UCLan. Her research focuses on migration dynamics in Taiwan, particularly mainland spouses' experiences, transnationalism, and systemic oppressions. She has conducted extensive fieldwork across Taiwan and China, including a 2015 bicycle expedition to document migrant narratives. Her work combines ethnographic methods with intersectional analysis, challenging conventional views on transnational practices.
