Lapo Mughini Gras

Lapo Mughini Gras is a Professor in Food Safety and Public Health at the Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS) within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University. He also serves as an Epidemiologist and Senior Scientific Advisor in One Health Risk Analysis at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM).

• Epidemiology and risk assessment of foodborne/zoonotic diseases
• Antimicrobial resistance dynamics
• Source attribution modeling
• One Health at human-animal-environment interface
• Cancer epidemiology related to bacterial infections
• Microplastic-associated microbial spread

Current projects include CousCous (Cryptosporidium source attribution) and PINNACLE (Campylobacter CRISPR dynamics). Previously led DiSCoVeR (pathogen source attribution datasets) and ADONIS (Salmonella Enteritidis trends).
