Lance Newey

Dr. Lance Newey is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business, The University of Queensland. His research focuses on integrating wellbeing frameworks across business and society, emphasizing eight components: economic, environmental, social, cultural, physical, psychological, spiritual, and material. He pioneered the use of polarity leveraging to address complex societal challenges and developed a wellbeing leadership model validated through international studies in Alaska, India, Norway, and collaborations with the City of Anchorage.

Dr. Newey is a distinguished educator, winning a National Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning and multiple teaching awards. His courses, such as Social Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Leadership, emphasize experiential learning, enabling students to tackle real-world issues like mental health, environmental sustainability, and homelessness.

His research spans sustainability, organizational resilience, and dynamic capabilities. Key contributions include frameworks for transitioning to wellbeing-centric models and resolving societal gridlock through polarity management.
