Dr. Lana Ray is an Associate Professor in the Department of Indigenous Learning at Lakehead University, where she joined in July 2017. She holds the Indigenous Research Chair in Decolonial Futures and serves as Director of the Anishinaabe Kendaasiwin Institute (AKI). Her work focuses on advancing Indigenous social, cultural, and political realities through resurgent and decolonial practices.

- Research areas: Indigenous resurgence, health, methodologies, and decolonization
- Previously worked in public and non-profit sectors, including as Director of Policy and Research at a provincial Indigenous organization
Dr. Ray’s work is guided by the principle that Indigenous communities and scholars are central to shaping decolonial futures, as reflected in her leadership of AKI and collaborative projects with traditional knowledge holders.
