Lana Pericic is an Associate Lecturer and PhD candidate at the University of Plymouth, affiliated with the School of Art, Design and Architecture (part of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business). She teaches on the BA/BSc Digital Media Design program, delivering lectures, workshops, and tutorials across multiple modules.
Her PhD research focuses on digital archives, exploring relationships between digital photography, family heritage, and environmental contexts through community collaboration and museum partnerships. Lana also serves as a research assistant on projects addressing modern construction methods for community building, emphasizing heritage and social engagement.
In teaching, she specializes in creative coding, interactive interfaces, Arduino, projection mapping, and VR/AR technologies. She leads the DAT443 Creative Coding module at the University of Plymouth and the DAT505 Creative Coding module at Nanjing University of Arts in China. She contributes to other modules such as Digital Making, Programming Audio Visual Experiences, and Experimental Media Lab.
Lana’s interdisciplinary practice bridges technology and community-focused design, with supervisory roles in final year projects and dissertations. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those addressing environmental sustainability and cultural heritage preservation.
