Lalon Alexander

Lalon Alexander is Associate Professor and Program Chair of Fashion Management at the University of the Incarnate Word's School of Media & Design. She holds a PhD in Higher Education from UIW and specializes in creative pedagogy, technical embroidery, and fashion curriculum development.

Alexander's research examines creativity enhancement techniques, digital integration in studio teaching, and historical approaches in couture embroidery. She develops pedagogical frameworks for fostering innovation in design education and documents traditional craftsmanship techniques.

Publications demonstrate expertise in fashion pedagogy with focus on technology integration and creativity enhancement methodologies. Alexander's work bridges traditional craftsmanship with contemporary educational approaches.

She has received multiple design competition awards including recognition at the Texas Natural Fibers Design Competition and Paris American Academy Competition. As co-owner of Elephant Embellishments, Alexander preserves traditional embroidery techniques through workshops and professional training.

Alexander advises student organizations and developed international fashion education programs including study tours to Paris to examine haute couture techniques.
