Laken Albrink is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Legal Research and Writing at the J. David Rosenberg College of Law at the University of Kentucky. A first-generation college graduate, she is a UK law alumna (JD 2015) with extensive experience in higher education, state government, and private practice.
- Previously held roles at Morehead State University: Legal Studies Program Coordinator, Assistant Professor of Legal Studies, Student Conduct Hearing Officer, and Law Clinic Coordinator.
- Prior to that: Executive Advisory at Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services and Special Attorney at Kentucky Attorney General’s Office of Child Abuse & Exploitation Prevention.
Her research focuses on trauma-informed legal advocacy and first-generation student success. Notably, her 2014 article addresses systemic vulnerabilities of women in agriculture to sexual assault, particularly undocumented immigrants, and the failure of criminal justice responses. Her work bridges legal advocacy with social justice in marginalized communities.
Albrink’s career reflects a commitment to equity, combining academic instruction with practical legal experience in state governance and victim advocacy.
