Dr. Laila Khalid is an Associate Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine with dual appointments in General Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. She directs an innovative teaching clinic integrating opioid management education into primary care and serves as a buprenorphine site champion for Montefiore Medical Center.

Her research focuses on evidence-based opioid therapy, substance use disorder treatment, and medical education reform. Studies examine guideline adherence, treatment cascade models, and pandemic-era healthcare adaptations.
