Kristine E. Torres-Lockhart

Dr. Kristine Torres-Lockhart is Assistant Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine with joint appointments in General Internal Medicine and Psychiatry. She founded Montefiore's Addiction Consult Service and directs the Addiction Medicine Fellowship program.

Her research develops healthcare interventions for substance use disorders in acute care settings, focusing on low-dose buprenorphine initiation, opioid withdrawal protocols, and transitions to community care. Publications evaluate addiction consult services, pandemic-era treatment adaptations, and clinical guideline implementation.

As HRSA and OASAS grant recipient, she leads workforce development initiatives for addiction medicine. Clinical work integrates HIV/hepatitis C care with substance use treatment in Bronx community health centers.
