Lacramioara Bintu

Lacramioara Bintu is an Associate Professor of Bioengineering at Stanford University. Her research focuses on single-cell and high-throughput measurements of chromatin and gene regulation dynamics, aiming to develop predictive models and advance mammalian cell engineering.

Her lab integrates single-molecule methods, live-cell imaging, and mathematical modeling to uncover molecular mechanisms of transcription and epigenetic regulation. She previously conducted postdoctoral research in Michael Elowitz's lab at Caltech and earned her doctorate at UC Berkeley under Carlos Bustamante.
