Jesse Peck is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Art & Design at the University of New Haven, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches upper-division Interior Design courses, including AutoCAD, Revit Autodesk, Sketching and Rendering, and studio courses at the junior and senior levels.
- M.A. in Interior Design from Washington State University's Interdisciplinary Design Institute
- B.A. in Art from Gonzaga University, focusing on painting, art history, and literature
Her research and teaching interests emphasize sustainable practices, affordable housing, and interdisciplinary design, particularly in the context of multi-family housing for underserved populations. She has explored the integration of technology into design curricula and the role of natural light, building orientation, and wind patterns in shaping sustainable architecture.
Jesse previously worked as a Graduate Researcher at the Integrated Design Lab (IDL), Northwest, where she studied the relationship between light and user behavior in perimeter offices. She also led an interdisciplinary student team to design the Sma|rt_1 Home for Habitat for Humanity, Spokane, and has practiced at a sustainably-focused firm specializing in multi-family housing.
She has delivered invited presentations at international conferences, including topics on sustainable housing, women's poverty and housing neglect, and children's developmental needs in home design.
