Līva Bodniece is a Visiting Lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Rīga Stradiņš University. She specializes in classical literature translation and reception studies, with particular focus on Ancient Greek and Roman works in Baltic cultural contexts. Her research examines the cultural translation of classical tragedies including Medea and Antigone.
Educational background includes a PhD in Languages and Literature from the University of Latvia (2024), with dissertation research on Roman poetry translations into Latvian.
Research interests span classical reception, theatre studies, poetic translation techniques, and cross-cultural adaptation of ancient texts in Baltic literature and performance traditions. Her work connects philological analysis with contemporary performance practice.
Conference participation includes presentations on classical reception in Baltic countries at international events such as the Thomas More International Days (2025) and Antigones un Mēdejas ceļi Baltijā (2024).
