Kymm Ballard

Dr. Kymm Ballard serves as Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Health and Physical Education Program in Campbell University's College of Arts and Sciences Department of Exercise Science, preparing students for K-12 teaching careers since joining in 2014. With over 10 years' K-12 teaching experience and 11+ years at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, she develops wellness partnerships with school districts nationwide.

Her research concentrates on K-12 health/physical education pedagogy, curriculum implementation, and lifelong wellness promotion through evidence-based athletic programs and professional development initiatives for educators.

Dr. Ballard has received these major honors:

• National 2002 P.E. 4 Life Advocate of the Year
• Physical Education Teacher of the Year & Health Education Teacher of the Year (same year)
• NC Coach of the Year
• Highest Honor Awards from North Carolina AAHPERD
• Channing Mann, National Administrator of the Year (NASPE)
• Si McNeely award (Society of State Directors)

As program coordinator, she mentors future health/PE educators while leading national initiatives as current President of both SHAPE America and NC SHAPE, serving on boards including RMC Health to advance physical education standards nationwide.
