معرفی
Kyle van Gorkom is an Assistant Research Professor at Steward Observatory, University of Arizona, specializing in high contrast imaging of exoplanets and wavefront sensing and control techniques. He collaborates with Ewan Douglas on space-based observatory instrumentation and previously worked at NASA Goddard and the Space Telescope Science Institute on optical engineering for the Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes.
- Education: PhD in Optical Sciences (2021) and BS in Physics and Philosophy (2014), both from the University of Arizona.
His research focuses on advancing optical technologies for astronomical applications, particularly deformable mirrors and focal-plane wavefront sensing. Kyle contributes to instrumentation projects like MagAO-X and develops software tools for coronagraphy and Zernike polynomial conversions, available on his GitHub repositories.
