Dr. Kyle Gullings is an Associate Professor of Music Theory and Composition at The University of Texas at Tyler, where he has served since 2011. He previously directed the School of Performing Arts (2019–2023). His work focuses on open educational resources (OER), music pedagogy, and composition addressing social themes like space exploration, nuclear policy, and mental health. He co-authored the Open Music Theory textbook, supported by a $30,000 VIVA grant, and has published peer-reviewed articles on music education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
