Kyle Dargan is an Associate Professor of Literature and Director of Creative Writing at American University. He is a critically acclaimed poet and editor of POST NO ILLS magazine, with four published poetry collections. His work has been recognized by prestigious awards such as the Cave Canem Poetry Prize and Hurston/Wright Legacy Award.

Dargan’s research and creative practice centers on poetry, African American literature, and youth writing initiatives. He actively collaborates with organizations like 826DC and Writopia Lab to promote literary education for young writers. His accolades include finalist placements for the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award and Eric Hoffer Awards Grand Prize. He has received grants from the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities and has partnered with the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities for poetry programming at the White House and Library of Congress.
