Marek Kuś is a Full Professor at the Center for Theoretical Physics, Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw since 1995. He holds a D.Sc. (Habilitation) from Warsaw University (1988), a Ph.D. in Physics (1983), and an M.Sc. in Physics (1979). His research focuses on theoretical and mathematical physics, including nonlinear phenomena, chaos, stochastic processes, geometric methods in physics, and quantum information theory. He has held visiting professorships at institutions such as the Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris, 1998-2000) and Universität Essen (Germany, 1995-1996).
- Director of the Center for Theoretical Physics (2003–2006)
- President of the Polish Society for Advancement of Arts and Sciences (2003–2006)
- Chairman of the Scientific Council for the National Center for Quantum Information in Gdańsk (since 2008)
Professional Activities:
- Member of the Presidium of the Committee of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (2003–2006; 2007–2010)
- Editor of the International Journal of Quantum Information (since 2010)
- Member of five editorial boards and international scientific councils
Awards: Humboldt Fellowship (1987), ERC Advanced Grants evaluation panel membership (2014).
Labs/Teams: Leads the Scientific Council of the National Center for Quantum Information in Gdańsk and collaborates with multiple institutes across Poland and internationally.
