Kunlin Jin is a Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, affiliated with the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences and the Institute for Healthy Aging. His research focuses on mechanisms underlying aging-related neurodegeneration, particularly in stroke and Alzheimer’s disease. He investigates neurogenesis modulation, stem cell-based therapies, and vascular cognitive impairment.
Education: PhD in Molecular Biology from Beijing University and MD from Wenzhou Medical University.
Research Interests: Neurogenesis after stroke, aging effects on brain repair, Alzheimer’s neuropathology, and exosome-mediated therapies. Key areas include mitigating age-related cognitive decline via systemic milieu modulation and neuroprotective strategies.
Recent work includes studies on fibrinogen in Parkinson’s, exosome-driven inflammation in stroke, and microbial interventions for neurodegeneration. He has led 17 sponsored projects, including NIH-funded studies on stroke recovery and vascular aging.
Collaborations span neurology, gerontology, and stem cell biology, with a focus on translational medicine and clinical trials.
