Kritu Panta is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Department of Microbiology and Immunology, The University of Western Australia. Their research focuses on immunology and microbiology, particularly on flaviviruses like Dengue, Zika, and SARS-CoV-2, with a strong emphasis on antibody responses, disease epidemiology, and public health implications in endemic regions.
- Contribution to UN Sustainable Development Goals: Public Health, Health Systems, Disease Prevention
Key research areas include:
- Dengue Fever and Serotypes
- COVID-19 immune responses
- Zika Virus circulation
- Cross-reactivity of antibodies
- Flavivirus infection in travelers
- B-cell responses in community groups
Recent publications highlight studies on SARS-CoV-2 neutralization in human milk, hyperendemic Dengue in Indonesia, Chikungunya-Dengue co-circulation, and co-endemic challenges in Asia. Collaborations span institutions in Australia, Indonesia, and international networks.
Active projects include the 3C: SARS-CoV-2 genotyping and B-cell responses in community groups and returned travellers, funded by the Snow Medical Research Foundation Limited (2020–2022), focusing on viral genotyping and immune responses in diverse populations.
Research outputs have significant impact, with high citations (e.g., 137 citations for the 2021 review on co-endemic diseases) and engagement metrics (509 Mendeley readers for the 2021 review).
