Kristy Muir is a Professor of Social Policy at the UNSW Business School and serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Paul Ramsay Foundation and Chair of Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy Australasia. With over three decades of experience across support work, academia, leadership, and philanthropy, she focuses on enabling children, families, and communities to thrive through for-purpose organizations. Her research spans social issues such as housing, education, employment, disability, mental health, and wellbeing, with a life-course perspective.
She has led over 100 social impact projects, including collaborations with governments, NGOs, and social enterprises. Notable initiatives include founding the AGSM Governance for Social Impact course and the Social Impact Leadership Australia program. Kristy holds a PhD in social history, Harvard Business School executive education, and an Australian Institute of Company Directors qualification.
Her work emphasizes governance frameworks for social impact, evidenced through executive education programs for non-executive directors and CEOs. Key projects include the Centre for Social Impact’s leadership programs and policy advocacy in areas like homelessness and financial resilience. Kristy’s research bridges academic insights with practical solutions, fostering systemic change in social sectors.
