Kristopher Norris is a Visiting Professor of Public Theology at Wesley Theological Seminary and a PhD graduate from the University of Virginia. His research focuses on political theology, theological ethics, and the intersection of religion with public life. He also serves as a Lecturer in Public Theology and has held roles such as Interim Co-Director of the National Capital Semester for Seminarians.
Education: BA from University of North Carolina, MDiv from Duke University Divinity School, ThM from Candler School of Theology (Emory University), and PhD from the University of Virginia (2017).
Research interests include political practices of congregations, just war theory, pacifism, environmental ethics, and missional ecclesiology. He has taught courses ranging from Eco-Theology to Christian Ethics and has authored books such as Pilgrim Practices and Kingdom Politics.
Publications span peer-reviewed journals, books, and book chapters, with a focus on contemporary theological debates and church-political engagement. Recent work includes analyses of the Roman Catholic Just War tradition and Bonhoeffer’s political theology.
