Kristopher Keith is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Jazz Studies at The Ohio State University's School of Music. He has held roles directing the Jazz Lab Ensemble and Latin Jazz Combo since 2007. His expertise spans Jazz Woodwinds, Latin Jazz, and woodwind pedagogy, with a focus on Cuban, Brazilian, and American jazz traditions. He holds a Master of Arts in Woodwind Pedagogy (2012) and a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and Jazz Studies (1994), both from OSU.
- Education: US Army School of Music (1988), MA & BA from OSU
- Performance: Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Jazz Orchestra, and Broadway pit orchestras
- Projects: Director of La Charanga Tres (Cuban orchestra), Trio Classique (classical flute/violin/cello), and Jazz for Kids (arts-in-schools program)
Research interests include cultural fusion in Latin jazz and music education. Awards include a Franklin County grant and Columbus' 'Forty Under 40' recognition. He collaborates with major artists like Andrea Bocelli and performs widely in Columbus venues.
