معرفی
Kristofer Covey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Studies and Sciences at Skidmore College. He is an applied ecologist and biogeochemist focusing on terrestrial ecosystems and their role in climate systems. After co-founding the Quick Carbon research program and Western Research Fellowship at Yale, he now leads The Soil Inventory Project, a national soil carbon mapping initiative. His work integrates ecological research with land management solutions.
Research Interests
Dr. Covey investigates biogeochemical processes in terrestrial ecosystems, particularly soil carbon dynamics and methane emissions from forests. His research addresses climate change mitigation through
- Global soil carbon mapping
- Forest carbon cycle analysis
- Methane fluxes in temperate and tropical forests
- Regenerative land management practices
Scientific Leadership
- Co-Founder & President of The Soil Inventory Project
- Contributor to Global Carbon Project's Methane Working Group
- Former Lead Scientist at Ucross High Plains Stewardship Initiative
