Kristina Zampoukos is a Lecturer and Associate Professor in Human Geography at Mid Sweden University’s Department of Economics, Geography, Law and Tourism (EJT). Her research intersects feminist geography, labor geography, and population geography, with a focus on migrant labor, gig economy dynamics, and workplace harassment in hospitality. She has taught extensively across human geography, tourism, gender studies, and sociology, and supervises students at all academic levels.
Her research projects include De-normalizing harassment and (threats of) violence in the hospitality workplace, Work without jobs: A study of gig economy workers' existence, and Cowork4YOUTH. She is associated with the ETOUR research center and has served on university governance boards (2017–2020, 2024–2027). Publications examine migrant service workers in gig economies, labor immobility, and socio-spatial impacts of tourism.
Key trends in her 2022–2024 articles include analyses of pandemic-induced labor precarity, algorhythmic urbanism in gig economies, and intersectional approaches to workplace inequality. Her work bridges critical labor studies, feminist theory, and tourism geographies, often addressing spatial-temporal negotiations in hospitality and migration.
