Professor Kristina Riegert is affiliated with Södertörn University's Department of Media and Communication within the School of Social Sciences. Her research focuses on global media dynamics, comparative journalism practices, and the intersection of politics with entertainment media (politicotainment). She examines topics such as crisis communication, cultural citizenship, and identity formation through media representation.
Her work employs comparative methodologies across national and transnational contexts. Notable projects include analyzing Scandinavian media representations of the Eastern Baltic region, cultural journalism's portrayal of global events, and transnational media responses to crises like the Kosovo conflict.
