Her work focuses on educational inequalities, intergenerational mobility, family dynamics, and quantitative methods.
Education: She holds a PhD in Sociology from Tallinn University (2013), complemented by MA (2008) and BA (2006) degrees from the same institution. Her doctoral research examined ethnic inequalities in post-Soviet education and labor markets.
Research: Lindemann explores how societal contexts influence educational trajectories, particularly through family instability, parental unemployment, and policy interventions. Her work combines longitudinal and comparative analyses, with a focus on Europe and post-Soviet regions. Key themes include school-to-work transitions, labor market integration of migrants, and the intergenerational effects of adverse life events.
Awards/Grants: She secured a 2019 German Research Foundation (DFG) grant on family instability and educational inequality, followed by a 2023 DFG grant on intergenerational impacts of parental adversity. She was an ERC-funded researcher (2014–2019) and held visiting fellowships at MZES (Mannheim) and BIGSSS (Bremen).
Teaching/Supervision: Lindemann teaches advanced quantitative methods and education policy. She is open to supervising PhD students in her research areas.
Labs/Teams: She contributes to the Advanced Quantitative Research in Education (AQRiE) Hub, organizing interdisciplinary seminars on inequality and mobility. Her work bridges social policy, education systems, and family sociology.
