Kristina Huxley

Kristina Huxley is a full-time Lecturer in the Department of Core Studies at The National College of Art and Design (NCAD), Dublin. She holds a BFA (First Class Honours) from the Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art, Oxford University, and an MA (Painting) from NCAD, funded by the Leverhulme Trust. Her work spans visual art, installations, and experimental projects, emphasizing innovation, risk-taking, and boundary-pushing practices.

Research Interests: Kristina’s practice focuses on experimental art, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the intersection of traditional and digital media. She explores themes of transience, materiality, and environmental engagement through installations, drawings, and light-sensitive works. Her projects often challenge institutional frameworks and prioritize creative experimentation.

Awards & Memberships:

• Member of Visual Arts Ireland (1999–present)
• Programming Board Member, Royal Hibernian Academy Gallagher Gallery (2002–2006)

Advising & Grants: Kristina has contributed to selection panels for art commissions and has received grants for research and residencies in Norway and Ireland. Her work is held in major collections, including the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) and international institutions.

Projects: She maintains a studio in East Galway and has developed projects such as Blizzard, almost (installation), Everything Iridescent (drawings/3D structures), and No Change, I Change (film).
