Prof. Dr. Kristin Kersten is a full Professor in the Department of English at the University of Mannheim, leading the Multilingualism and Education team within the School of Humanities. Her research focuses on multilingualism's cognitive and emotional benefits, early language acquisition, and pedagogical strategies in bilingual education. She holds a prominent role as Chair of Multilingual Education.
Her academic career includes significant contributions to understanding how multilingual environments enhance cognitive flexibility, goal adjustment, and emotional intelligence. Her work bridges theoretical linguistics with practical educational applications, particularly in immersion and EFL learning settings.
