Kristin Hayes is the Chair and Assistant Professor of Dance Performing Arts at Belmont Abbey College. She leads the Dance in the Light series and the annual Spring Dance Showcase. Her work focuses on integrating dance into K-12 education to enhance communication and expression. Hayes teaches courses such as Dance Appreciation, Choreography, and Dance Internship, emphasizing practical application of dance as a leadership tool. She holds a B.A. and M.A. from Winthrop University.
Her research emphasizes Dance Curriculum Integration, a method for teaching core academic subjects through movement. She serves on the board of the North Carolina Dance Education Organization. Outside academia, Hayes balances family life with global dance collaborations and community outreach, advocating for dance as a means of societal impact.
