Kristin Bergtora Sandvik is a Professor at the Department of Criminology and Sociology of Law, Faculty of Law, University of Oslo. She holds a 20% Research Professor position at the Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) and co-leads projects such as LAW22JULY: RIPPLES and Legal regulation in an era of deglobalization. Her work bridges law, sociology, and humanitarian studies.

She founded initiatives like the Sami Law Symposium and the Corona and Rule of Law network.
Recent publications highlight her focus on digitalization, migration law, and post-crisis legal mobilization, including a 2023 monograph on humanitarian extractivism and a forthcoming book on aid regulation. She contributes to interdisciplinary debates on technology, democracy, and deglobalization.
