Kristie Foley, PhD, is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Health Behavior at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health and holds a professorship in Social Sciences and Health Policy at Wake Forest School of Medicine. She serves as Program Leader of Cancer Prevention and Control, focusing on organizational and structural factors driving health disparities across the cancer continuum. Her research is funded by NIH, American Cancer Society, NSF, and RWJF.
Education: PhD (Health Behavior and Health Education, UNC Chapel Hill, 2000), MS (Rehabilitation Counseling, UNC Chapel Hill, 1994).
Research emphasizes cancer disparities, eHealth, global health, implementation science, and public health ethics. Teaching includes Population Health & Health Policy at Wake Forest School of Medicine, with prior instruction in Global Health/Research Ethics at Davidson College. She also develops future courses on Research Methods.
Practice activities include tobacco control initiatives and advising student research projects. Collaborates with health behavior faculty and guest lectures across disciplines. Engaged in health systems strengthening and chronic disease management strategies.
