Aubrey Turner

Aubrey Turner serves as the Associate Director for Research Funding and Strategy at the Collaborative Studies Coordinating Center (CSCC) within the Gillings School of Global Public Health at UNC-Chapel Hill. They lead proposal development and strategic initiatives to enhance research funding and collaboration across disciplines. Dr. Turner holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Genomics from Wake Forest University School of Medicine (2016), an M.S. in Genetic Counseling from the University of South Carolina (2000), and a B.S. in Biology from UNC Greensboro (1996).

Research interests focus on prostate cancer genetics, translational research applications of genome-wide association studies (GWAS), and improving healthcare outcomes through evidence-based interventions. Their work emphasizes racial disparities in prostate cancer, particularly among African American populations, and the clinical utility of genetic risk assessments.

Publications span 2008–2016, addressing genetic variants in prostate cancer, risk loci identification, and translational paradigms linking genetic research to clinical practice. While no specific awards are noted, their contributions bridge molecular genetics with public health policy.
