Kristian Bolin is a Professor of Health Economics and Director of the Centre for Health Economics at the University of Gothenburg. His research focuses on health economics, microeconomics, and economic evaluation, with a particular emphasis on theoretical modeling of health-related behaviors. He has extensive experience collaborating with clinical researchers, medical professionals, and government/industry stakeholders. His work includes projects like BIOCYCLE (EU Horizon 2020) and studies on healthcare costs, smoking cessation, and epilepsy management.
Education: PhD in Economics (Lund University, 1996), Docent (Associate Professor) at Lund University (2002), Full Professor at Lund University (2009), and current Professor at the University of Gothenburg since 2013.
Teaching Areas: Microeconomics, Health Economics, and Economic Evaluation.
Research Projects: Includes leadership roles in studies on cancer patient lifestyles, SHARE (European health retirement survey), and cost-effectiveness analyses of pharmaceuticals and medical technologies. He has advised governmental bodies (e.g., Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare) and pharmaceutical companies (e.g., AstraZeneca, Pfizer).
