Kristi Dorris is an American Sign Language instructor in the Department of World Languages at Boise State University, where she has been teaching since 2014. She holds a Master's degree in Sign Language Education from Gallaudet University and a Bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Geography from California State University Northridge.
Her academic and teaching interests focus on American Sign Language, Deaf History, and foreign sign languages. She is passionate about improving sign language education and has a strong commitment to community-based teaching practices. Her background in history enhances her approach to understanding and teaching Deaf cultural achievements.
