Kristen de Vries is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College and an Assistant Attending Physician at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Her academic roles include affiliation with the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at both institutions. She holds an adjunct appointment as Assistant Professor at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. de Vries completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine (2017), alongside a Master of Science in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (2015). She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Spanish from Loyola University Maryland (2009). Her clinical training includes residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Montefiore Medical Center and a fellowship in cancer rehabilitation medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Her clinical expertise focuses on cancer survivors with neurologic, musculoskeletal, or psychological impairments from cancer treatments. She specializes in pelvic floor dysfunction, particularly in women affected by cancer, and provides comprehensive care addressing gait abnormalities, lymphedema, radiation fibrosis, and cancer-related fatigue. She emphasizes patient-centered treatment plans integrating therapy, lifestyle modifications, and osteopathic manipulation.
Her research interests aim to expand functional recovery options for cancer survivors and improve awareness of pelvic floor dysfunction. She actively contributes to teaching and clinical research within rehabilitation medicine.
