Kristen W. Springer is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Rutgers University. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (2006), an MA from Yale University (2000), an MPH from Emory University (1997), and a BS from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research focuses on gender and health, integrating social and biological perspectives. Key areas include policy impacts on medical care for vulnerable groups, masculinity's role in biosocial reactions, methodological frameworks for gender/health research, and quantitative analyses linking masculinity ideals, socioeconomic status, marriage, and men’s health. Her work has been published in top journals like American Journal of Sociology, American Journal of Public Health, and Gender & Society, and featured in media such as The New York Times and USA Today.
